I can remember as a child my mom sharing memories of how, in the 1930’s while they were living in Portales, she and my dad, every Sunday after church, would load the truck up with food they had grown and take it to the Children’s Home to share (even though they were a large family with at least 8-9 kids at home at that point). It was important to my parents to support this worthy cause and has remained near and dear to my heart for many years.

I had the privilege a few years ago of delivering shoes at Christmas that our church had gathered and was so blessed to experience the joy in the children’s eyes as they anticipated opening those Christmas gifts. I was particularly touched by a young brother and sister who were together holding hands and greeting the visitors. I can’t think of a better place to give tithes and offerings!
